I am so unbelievably excited to announce that my third novel, The Glitch, is being developed into a feature film by Searchlight and Marielle Heller's Defiant By Nature.
Searchlight Pictures is the studio behind some of the most talked-about and celebrated films in recent years. Known for championing bold stories and original voices, they’ve brought us titles like The Shape of Water, Nomadland, and Poor Things.
Defiant By Nature recently produced Nightbitch for Searchlight Pictures, written and directed by Heller and starring Amy Adams. Heller’s 2018 drama Can You Ever Forgive Me?, earned three Oscar noms including Melissa McCarthy for Best Actress, Richard E. Grant for Best Supporting Actor, and Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty’s for Best Adapted Screenplay. Defiant by Nature’s mission is to illuminate stories that speak to the heart- especially from women and non-binary creators.
Romantic movies, much like romantic novels, are still fighting for the respect they deserve, so to have two storytelling powerhouses behind this adaptation feels like a fever dream. I knew from the first conversation that my book would be in excellent hands with them and I cannot wait to see what magic they create!
